A video posted to Facebook by David Morris at around 3pm was captioned: "Foyer at Inverness Vue now!

"Absolutely slinging it down, in and out."

In the short clip, water can be seen and heard landing in the middle of the entrance area.

We understand no one was injured during the incident.

Vue Inverness say that they are currently working with contractors to assess any damage to the roof.

They have reassured customers with a pre-booked ticket, that they will be refunded automatically (for card payments).

Elsewhere in Inverness, it has been reported a supermarket had to evacuate after parts of the roof collapsed.

Video footage posted online shows water falling through the ceiling at the Tesco Inshes store.

Thunderstorms hit the Highlands earlier this afternoon, after a two day yellow weather warning was forecasted.
