Police appeal after attempted murder in Greenock

Police are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a man in Greenock.

A 22-year-old man was seriously injured as a result of a disturbance on Dorset Road at its junction with Oxford Road around 11.20pm on Thursday, 13 April, 2023.

He sustained injuries to his head and body and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A number of males were involved in the disturbance and officers are keen to trace witnesses”

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Enquiries are continuing and we are encouraging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to please get in touch.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious vehicles around these streets, and in particular a grey car which was seen around this time.

“If you have private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which might have captured anything, we ask that you check this to assist in our enquiries.

"We will be carrying out additional patrols in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers."
