Ayr artist paints official portrait of President Donald Trump

An artist from Ayr will see his work go global after painting an official portrait of President Donald Trump.

Craig Campbell is one of Scotland’s leading portraiture and figurative artists.

The 56 year-old is also recognised for his sporting images and Robert Burns inspired work.

Recently he has been working on paintings for the multi-million pound redevelopment of the Trump Turnberry resort.

On one visit, Donald Trump bought one of Craig’s golf paintings that happened to be for sale within the professional shop and produced prints of this for all the bedrooms within the hotel.

It was from there he was asked to create the Presidential portrait.
