The body discovered in a wooded area in Old Kilpatrick is missing Clydebank teenager Scott Diver.

Police Scotland said: "Around 1300 hours on Thursday 3 November, police were called to a report of the body of a young man found within a wooded area near to Old Kilpatrick.

"Sadly, the body has now been formally identified as that of Scott Diver, who had been missing from his home in Clydebank since Saturday 17 September. Relatives are aware.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

The Diver family thanked the public for their support in the hunt for Scott via a Facebook page that had been set up to help find him.

An emotional post read: "Sadly, today we have received the news we've been dreading, wee Scott has been found and heartbreakingly he's no longer with us.

"We thank everybody for their support and help over the last 7 weeks, this page has been a big help for us in the search for Scott but for us as family to be able to grieve properly we need to take time away and after tonight we'll close the page. Thank you again from the Diver family."

The 16-year-old was last seen on the 17th of September in Dalmuir Park.

Scott had moved from the Isle of Man to live with family in Clydebank 2013. During the search for him his Dad and sister Amy spoke exclusively to Clyde News about their heartbreak.
