A man's body's been found in a public square in Johnstone overnight

An investigation's underway after the body of a man was found in a public square in a Renfrewshire town.

Police were called to Houston Square in the early hours this morning.

The 58 year old's death is being treated as unexplained.

The area's been taped off as enquiries continue.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 2.55am on Saturday, 13 May, 2023, police received a report of a 58-year-old man's body being found in Houston Square, Johnston. Officers are in attendance and the death is being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing.”
