Body found in River Clyde in search for missing Glasgow student

Police searching for missing 22-year-old Emily Hope in Glasgow have found a body in water at the SSE Hydro.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Emily’s family has been informed.

She was reported missing after leaving the Mango nightclub in Sauchiehall Street in the early hours of Saturday February 22.

CCTV appeared to show the 22-year-old at the Tradeston bridge by the River Clyde, where some of her belongings were found.

A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a woman was found around 9.50am in the water at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow this morning, Friday March 27.

“Formal identification has yet to take place, however, the family of Emily Hope, aged 22, who was reported missing on Saturday February 22, has been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
