Body of missing German tourist found on Arran

Detectives searching for a missing German tourist on Arran have found his body.

Valerij Tomarenko had been on holiday in Scotland, staying in Glasgow. He was reported missing on Thursday 15 August after failing to get his flight home.

Days later, police discovered the 58 year-old’s car parked at Ardrossan ferry terminal.

Around 11.30am on Thursday 22nd August, officers found Mr Tomarenko’s body on Goatfell.

Formal identification is still to take place but his family have been informed.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
