Rae of Sunshine: Troon businesses rallying for Calum Rae crowdfunder
4-year-old Calum Rae's family are fundraising to get their son potential life saving treatment after he was diagnosed with nueroblastoma.

Local businesses in Troon are being called to arms by one takeaway owner to raise funds to potentially save a young boys life.
Earlier this week Clyde 1 reported news of 4-year-old Calum Rae’s family raising funds to get him to America for life-saving cancer treatment.
Calum was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Nueroblastoma, a type of nerve cancer. He has a rare tumour which has a low survival rate.

His family are attempting to raise £250,000 to get him there for a new vaccination that is in trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.
The story of Calum’s parents, Andy and Victoria, touched the local community in Troon and one person in particular who is making it her mission to get everyone involved to send Calum to America.
Scran's mission
Pamela Main from Scran takeaway, located by the Troon FC grounds, has so far managed to get 36 businesses on board to contribute towards the effort.
So far, £61,000 of the £250k has been raised in the space of a few weeks.
Pamela has started selling a new special ‘Calum Box’ at Scran and is donating 30 per cent of all the money spent on them to the Rae of Sunshine appeal.
She told Clyde 1: “What I am asking everyone to do is from our team at scran and from Calum’s family is dig deep. Local businesses anything you can afford, not asking for a huge gesture but just anything you can afford to get this wee boy away to America.
“I was talking to Calum’s dad, and he is absolutely overwhelmed with what we and everyone else have done so far. But you know what, it’s still not enough and we need more. Please get your hands in your pockets for Calum.”
As well as getting businesses to donate, some are getting creative in order raise money for the cause.
Ross from local installation company Dughouse installations is also working behind the scenes to create a giant neon sign with a plan of auctioning it off.

Troon FC help out
With Scran located right by Troon FC, the club are also getting involved starting with their final match of the season tomorrow against Irvine Meadow.
Richard Henderson from the club told Clyde 1: “It’s the last match of the season, and it’s a local derby that usually gets a great turnout. So we’re going to have some supporters out with donation buckets at the gate and throughout the game.
“Our bar will also be open all night at the club. We’ll be making collections throughout the entire day and night, and we’re asking supporters to dig deep for this very good cause and get Calum to New York.”
