Cameron House Hotel is to reopen in August, nearly four years after a fatal fire.

The luxury hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond will welcome guests from Sunday 1st August 2021.

The reopening follows the conclusion of criminal proceedings at Dumbarton Sheriff Court earlier this year.

38 year-old Richard Dyson and his partner 32 year-old Simon Midgley died in the fire in December 2017.

The hotel was ordered to pay £500,000 after admitting to breaches of fire safety rules which caused the deadly blaze.

A hotel porter was also given a community payback order to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work.

Andy Roger, Resort Manager at Cameron House said: “We are very excited to confirm that after a careful and meticulous restoration process, Cameron House will reopen on 1st August 2021.

“We are looking forward enormously to opening our doors once again, welcoming both news faces and returning guests to our beautiful resort.

"It’s been completely remodelled to the highest standards, guests can enjoy a truly luxurious experience while relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park.”
