Six casualties reported after Wishaw fire

Emergency services are still at the scene of a fire in Wishaw which broke out on Friday evening.

They were alerted around 7.30pm and the road has been closed to traffic.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed six people have been passed into the care of ambulance crews.

A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 7.26pm to reports of a dwelling fire on Stewarton Street, Wishaw.

"Operations control mobilised 4 appliances to the scene and firefighters are working to extinguish a fire affecting a two storey property.

"Six casualties were passed into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service and crews remain at the scene."
