Fire in Coatbridge was started deliberately

Eight people, including five children, have been rescued after a fire in flats in Coatbridge this morning.

Three children and an adult were brought to safety using a ladder from one of the upper floors of the five storey Stewart Court in Clifton Place.

Another two adults and two children were led to safety after crews were called out at 1am to a blaze on the ground floor.

Families in Coatbridge are back in their homes after a fire was deliberately set in their block of flats.

Emergency services rushed to Stewart Court around 1.30 am on Tuesday morning - 8 people, including 5 children had to be rescued.
