A Clyde News investigation into dangerous dogs has hit Holyrood.

More than a dozen MSPs have signed a motion calling on the Scottish Government to urgently review legislation aimed at protecting people from attacks.

It was submitted by former justice secretary Alex Neil, who introduced the control of dogs act in 2008, but says it now needs updated.

Back in September our exclusive report found more than 200 children have been taken to Accident and Emergency departments in Glasgow and the West with dog bite injuries in the first 6 months of this year.

It also found there has been a 10% rise in attacks generally.

The motion has been signed by SNP and Labour members but still needs support from the Lib Dems, Tories and Greens to be debated in Parliament.
