Clyde News can reveal independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information on the murder of 14-year-old Caroline Glachan, 20 years after she was killed.

Caroline, suffered head injuries as a result of an attack, was found dead on the banks of the River Leven in Dunbartonshire on Sunday 25 August 1996.

To this day, her killer has never been brought to justice.

Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information given to the charity that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Information passed directly to the police, will not qualify.

Angela Parker, National Manager for Crimestoppers in Scotland spoke to our reporter Shiona McCallum along with Caroline's mum Margaret. You can listen to the report here:

Angela continued: “Twenty years on, and Caroline’s family are still left with unanswered questions as to what happened to her.

“I am asking for people who might have any information, no matter how insignificant they think it might be, to contact Crimestoppers anonymously, because you could be the person that provides the missing pieces to the puzzle.

“We never ask who you are or any of your details. You’ll never speak to anyone from the police or ever go to court. Please do the right thing, and tell us who is responsible for taking a young girl’s life.”

If you have any information, please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through our Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

We launched a #JusticeForCaroline campaign to mark the twentieth anniversary of her death and revealed police are re-examining the case.

They hope advances in forensic technology can help and have taken the evidence from the local police station in Dumbarton to the forensic lab at the Scottish Crime Campus for examination.
