Four men injured in Glasgow city centre on Sunday morning

Officers say they were all hurt by the same group of men yesterday morning.

Four men have been injured by another group of men in Glasgow city centre.

Two 19-year-olds and a 21-year-old were walking on Elmbank Street near Sauchiehall Street, when they were approached by a group of 6 men who assaulted them and then ran off at around 3.20am yesterday.

A short time later, officers were called to a report of a further incident nearby on Sauchiehall Street, where a 21-year-old man was seriously injured by the same group.

The four men were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary in an ambulance.

The 21-year-old man injured on Sauchiehall Street is currently being treated for stab wounds and hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

This is being treated as an attempted murder.

The attack on the 19-year-old man in Elmbank Street is also being treated as an attempted murder.

He is being treated for stab wounds and his condition as described as serious but stable.

The other two men assaulted in Elmbank Street are receiving treatment for their injuries.

Hospital staff describe their condition as stable.

The six men responsible are described as being South Asian, one of the men wore a black t-shirt, dark jeans with dark trainers and had a beard.

Another had on a black jumper with a white stripe down the shoulders with dark jeans and white trainer.

The third man, wore a white top with a scarf around his neck with white trainers.

The fourth man had on a black bubble jacket, with black jeans, dark trainers and had a beard.

The fifth man also had on a black jacket with dark trousers and was wearing glasses and finally, the last man had on a dark jumper with a pattern on the chest with black jeans and dark shoes.

Detective Sergeant Euan Keil of City Centre Police Station said: “Our investigation is ongoing into these two incidents and officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and gathering CCTV footage to help identify the four men responsible for these serious assaults.

“At this time I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information or anyone who may have been in the area a recording via a dashcam device that may help our investigation to contact officers through 101 quoting reference 0669 of 3 October.
