Two Glasgow gang attacks being linked by detectives
The incident happened around 11.30pm on Monday, 7 October, on Clyde Street and involved a 17-year-old-man.
Detectives are linking two gang attacks that happened within hours of each other in Glasgow City Centre.
In the first incident a 17 year old boy was attacked near the Clutha Vaults around 11.30pm on Monday 7th October.
The teenager was approached by six men, received a blow to the head and fell to the ground. His mobile phone, head phones and glasses were stolen.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.
Officers are linking this incident with another that occurred nearby on Moir Street around 12.15am on Tuesday, 8 October, where a 21-year-old woman was grabbed from behind and had her mobile phone and rucksack stolen.
Police want to trace six men in connection with both of these incidents. Five were wearing dark hoodies and the sixth had on a grey hoody with a blue body warmer.
Detective Constable Blair Logan of Greater Glasgow CID said: “We want to make it clear that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour and we are utilising a number of resources to find the individuals responsible for these incidents.
“There has been an increase in high visibility patrols in the area as we continue enquires and I would encourage anyone with information which may be relevant to get in touch.”
