A group of barbers will be braving the cold weather to give free haircuts to the homeless in Glasgow tonight.

Connor McGhee from Greenock and his friends will be standing underneath the bridge at Central Station with their scissors and hairspray bottles in hand.

He told Clyde 1: "We have done a bit of a whip-round all the local towns with clothes donations, soup and we have made up packed lunches to give out too.

"I am really hoping for a good turn out because Christmas is difficult for these people."

The team will be underneath the bridge at Glasgow Central Station later.

Connor also claims he feels passionately about making others feel special at this time of year.

"These guys will probably wake up on Christmas Day in the streets of Glasgow where it is cold, they don't have any food and they certainly don't have presents under the tree.

"The boys just thought it would be good to club together and go down to spread a bit of festive cheer.

"Some of them are probably quite lonely at this time of year as well.

"We are all buzzing and we hope to make this a yearly event."
