Scottish Water is to carry out an urgent sewer repair in Glasgow city centre.

From Tuesday 23 May 2023 for approximately four days Bothwell Street between Pitt Street and Douglas Street will be reduced to one lane.

Traffic will still be able to drive down Bothwell Street from the M8 off-ramp but drivers heading up Pitt Street from Argyll Street will be diverted onto West George Street, across Blythswood Square and back down Blythswood Street.

All traffic management has been agreed with Glasgow City Council.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs manager in the west said: “We appreciate there will be a degree of disruption and inconvenience, but these are essential works which we need to complete as quickly as possible.

“We will do all that we can to mitigate against these and we would like to thank road users and residents for their patience and understanding.”
