Police close two Glasgow roads after man, 63, seriously assaulted

Two streets in Glasgow are closed as police investigate an assault.

Just after midnight on Tuesday 16 May, a 63-year-old man was attacked on Great George Street.

The victim is in hospital in a "serious condition".

Great George Lane is also taped off while officers investigate.

A Police Spokesperson said: "Around 12.35 am on Tuesday, 16 May 2023, police received a report a man had been assaulted during an altercation on Great George Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 63 year old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as serious.

"Enquiries are ongoing. Great George Lane and Great George Street are closed as officers conduct enquiries."
