Glasgow vlogger admits stalking charges following online abuse

A Glasgow vlogger has admitted stalking a woman on Facebook, as well as making “derogatory comments” and “threats of violence.”

Amanda Britt used her live streams on the website to insult Christina McKissock between 26 November 2018 and 7 January 2019, from her home in the Priesthill area.

Britt pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stalking, aggravated by prejudice related to sexual orientation.

Prosecutor Cheryl Lyons accepted a not guilty plea to a breach of the peace charge at Silverburn shopping centre.

Britt's lawyer, Martin Hughes, defending, said: “There is a substantial record.

“There has been a change of circumstances since this offence as she gave birth to a daughter who is now a four-months-old.'

Sentence was deferred until next month by Sheriff Valerie Mays for background reports.

She said: “In light of your offending, I will not be able to deal with this matter today.”

Britt was bailed meantime.

Last year, Britt was jailed for four months at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for an outburst during her partner David Craigie's trial for chasing a neighbour with a knife.

She tried to scupper the trial by deliberately mentioning Craigie's previous conviction for culpable homicide, for beating 21-year-old Sonya Todd to death with a dog lead, while giving evidence.

Britt was cleared for assaulting, hindering or obstructing nurse Anita Duncan at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in July 2018.

She also admitted punching hospital security guard John Allan last September 2018.
