Glasgow woman robbed of dog at knife point

A Glasgow woman is making a desperate plea for the safe return of her dog, after she was robbed of the pet at knife point.

Amy Henderson from Knightswood, was walking nine-month-old Coco the Chihuahua along Dumbarton Road at 11.30pm when a dark blue car pulled up.

She says a man got out and punched her in the face and threatened her with a knife before taking the dog and speeding off.

She issued an appeal on Facebook, writing: "Last night about 11:20pm i was walking my dog & a boy in a dark blue ST registration plate BL16PDU.

"I was attacked & my dog was stolen from me could everyone please keep there eyes out for my baby & please share this post and help me find her please there will be a reward for any information. Please help me."

Local enquiries are ongoing and police have found the blue Ford Fiesta reported in connection with the incident which was found to have cloned plates.

Detective Constable Joseph Keith of Greater Glasgow Police said: “Although the woman did not require any hospital treatment, this has been a very traumatic incident for her. She has been left very upset and worried for the safety of her dog, Coco.

“We are keen to trace the dog and the person responsible for this and I’d urge anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen anything or anyone with information about the dogs’ whereabouts to get in touch.
