CCTV images release in Glasgow High Street fire probe

Police investigating a fire which destroyed the Old College bar on High Stree in Glasgow have released CCTV images of a man who they believe he may be able to assist with enquiries.

The blaze happened 1.30am on Tuesday, 4 May 2021 and took crews several hours to put out.

Crimestoppers appeal

The man, who police believe may be able to assist them, is described as white, of a slim to medium build, wearing a blue and grey checked shirt, blue jeans and white flat-soled training shoes. He had a maroon coloured piece of clothing around his head and part of his face. He was carrying orange plastic bags.

Detective Constable Neil Bonsor, Greater Glasgow CID, said: “As part of the investigation, we are eager to identify the man in the CCTV footage and would urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at City Centre Police office via 101, quoting incident number 0119 of 4 May.
