The maker of IRN-BRU has annouced the new flavours voted for by fans of Scotland's other national drink: ‘Tropical’ and ‘Ice Cream’.

Almost 13,000 votes were cast in a Facebook public vote, with Tropical and Ice Cream declared winners.

Both flavours of IRN-BRU XTRA will now go into production at A.G. Barr’s factory in Cumbernauld, so the new drinks will be available in Scotland from mid-May.

5,300 people chose Tropical and 4,000 fans opted for Ice Cream to beat Candy Floss (2,400 votes) and Marshmallow (1,000 votes).

Adrian Troy, AG Barr Marketing Director, said: “The battle was fierce, but our fans have spoken with Tropical and Ice Cream chosen as our limited edition summer flavours. We’re always looking to give our fans something XTRA and we can’t wait for these two new phenomenal flavours to hit shop shelves.”
