Campaigners are telling Clyde 1 why they are joining our #LightTheWay demonstration in Kelvingrove Park.

It's being held from 6-7pm on Friday December 10.

Natalie Crawford-Goodwin and Selena Jackson from the Radio Clyde News team, and Clyde 1 presenter Cassi Gillespie, who is hosting the event, spoke to some of the groups backing the campaign during a panel on women's safety.

'I want parks to be a safe place for everyone'

Ashley Scotland, Chief Executive and Founder of Thriving Survivors, said: "We are taking a staff team, but I'll be going with my husband, my two boys, and my daughter.

"I want to show them that this is relevant to all of us - I want parks to be a safe place for my boys to go and play in, no matter what time of day.

"We should not have to light our own parks. We will, but I hope the council listens and follows through, and lights up our parks and makes them safe for everybody."

Laura Maginess is the founder of Glasglow Girls Club.

She said: "I'm going to take as many people as I possibly can. I think it's so important to take a stand together, and I'll be saying to men in my family to come, because it's about safety for all.
