Man appears in court accused of murdering woman in Kilmarnock

A man’s appeared in court charged with murder, following the death of a woman in Kilmarnock.

Alexis Flynn, 42, was found seriously injured in Craigie Place in the town on Tuesday night.

She was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital but died a short time later.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.20pm on Tuesday evening, police were called to a report of a woman seriously injured within an address in Craigie Place, Kilmarnock.

“She was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where she died a short time later.”

On Thursday afternoon 51-year-old David Payne appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court charge with Alexis’ murder.

He made no plea, and was remanded in custody ahead of a further appearance next week.
