A man's been taken to hospital after being rescued from the River Clyde this morning.

Police and Fire and rescue services were called to the Broomielaw at around half past 9 after reports of a man in the river.

A rescue operation was carried out, and the man was taken for treatment to hospital.

It's not known how serious his condition is.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man in the River Clyde off the Broomielaw in Glasgow around 9.30am on Sunday, 20th February.

“The man has been recovered safely with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and taken to hospital.”
