Man robs Ibrox petrol station at knifepoint

It happened at the Esso petrol station on Broomloan Road in the early hours of Saturday.

Police are hunting a man who robbed an Ibrox petrol station at knifepoint

The man threatened staff at around 5.30am on Saturday September 17 at the Esso garage on Broomloan Road, before making off with a three-figure sum of cash.

The member of staff was uninjured but shaken as a result of the robbery.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a blue jacket with a red scarf, blue jeans, white trainers and an orange baseball cap.

Detective Sergeant Peter Sharp said: “Enquiries are ongoing in the local area to trace the man responsible.

"I would urge anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously near the garage early this morning to contact the Robbery Unit at Pollok Police Office through 101.

"Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
