A 34-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following a crash in Inchinnan this morning.

It happened on the A726, Barnsford Road around 8.35am.

A black Yamaha motorcycle was travelling north between St James Interchange and Walkinshaw Road, when it left the road colliding with perimeter fencing at the airport.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

There were no other vehicles involved.

Road Policing Sergeant Ryan McAuley said:

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who saw what happened but who has not yet been spoken to by police. If anyone has dash-cam footage that they believe may assist our enquiry, I would urge them to get in touch with police via 101. Please quote reference number 0535 of Tuesday, 5 July, 2022 when calling.”

The road was closed in both directions to allow officers to carry out their enquiries and was re-opened around 12.55 pm.
