A man's been seriously assaulted in Parkhead by two attackers

Police say the 37 year old tried to escape in his car, before it crashed with a stationary vehicle

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in the Parkhead area of Glasgow.

Around 6.30pm on Friday, 24 February, 2023, a 37-year-old man was attacked in Sorby Street, near Westmuir Street, by two men. The injured man manages to get into his car and as he’s driving off he collides with a stationary vehicle. The two male attackers made off towards Tollcross Road.

Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. He has since been released.

The first suspect is white with a heavy build. He was wearing black clothing and black trainers.

The second suspect is white, with a slim build. He was wearing a grey and black hooded jacket with grey jogging trousers and a dark coloured snood across his face.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are continuing to check relevant CCTV footage for any additional information on the suspects.

Detective Constable Sarah Steven said: “We don’t know the motive for this attack but we do believe the victim was the intended target. I would like to appeal to members of the public who were in the area at the time to get in touch with us. We are piecing together exactly what happened and any small piece of information could prove vital in our inquiry. I would also appeal to anyone with dash cam or other recording devices to check the footage as there may be images which could assist our investigation.”
