37-year-old man to stand trial for brutal murder in Castlemilk

It happened at the victim's flat there in 2022

A man's to stand trial charged with murder in Castlemilk.

Christopher Howe is accused of killing Paul Berry, 46, at his flat on November 18th last year.

Prosecutors claim the 37 year-old did repeatedly punch, kick and stamp on Mr Berry's head and body.

Howe faces a separate charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

This includes accusations that he tried to clean up blood at the flat as well as get rid of footwear, clothes and a rug.

Among other allegations are that Howe also assaulted another man on the same day.

Lawyers for Howe pleaded not guilty on his behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today/yesterday.

Lord Scott fixed a trial which is set to start in July 2024.
