Man who died in Lanarkshire crash named as Blane Rundell

It happened last Thursday near Lesmahagow

A man who died in a crash near Lesmahagow last Thursday's being named as 22 year-old Blane Rundell.

Blane, from Lanarkshire, was driving a red Suzuki Alto when it collided with an HGV on the B7078 north of Kerse Roundabout.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured and a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.

Sergeant Chris McColm, of the Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Blane’s family at this very difficult time.

“We are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who may have information which has not yet been passed to police to get in touch.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0524 of 7 December.”
