Pensioner robbed of cash and jewellery by masked gang in Newton Mearns

Detectives are appealing for information after a 72-year-old man was robbed by a masked gang in his home in Newton Mearns.

At around 7.10pm on Monday, 8 April, 2024. three men broke into the house on Broomfield Avenue and stole thousands of pounds in cash, and jewellery.

The suspects made off a short time later in a black Audi A3 or S3.

Detective Inspector Ross Jamieson of Govan Police Station said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage into this robbery to establish more information on the three suspects and the Audi they made off in.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area of Broomfield Avenue on Monday evening who witnessed anything suspicious, or anyone with dash-cam or personal footage to please check back in case they captured anything relevant.
