Police investigating 'unexplained' death of Ayr woman found in flat

Police in South Ayrshire are investigating the death of a woman in Ayr after he body was discovered in a flat.

Police in South Ayrshire are investigating the death of a woman in Ayr after a body was discovered in a flat.

Officers were called to a property on Nursery Hall, Ayr, at around 10:15am on Monday 27 March.

Upon investigation, a 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman’s death is being treated as ‘unexplained’ by local detectives, but there is no indication of whether it is under suspicious circumstances yet.

Police say there will be a post-mortem examination in ‘due course’ to discover the cause of death.

A spokesperson said: “Around 10.15am on Monday, 27 March, police were called to a flat in Nursery Hall, Ayr.

“A 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however meantime the death is being treated as unexplained.

“Police enquiries are continuing.”
