Police are praising footballs fans today after there were no serious disturbances following the Scottish Cup final at Hampden yesterday.

Celtic won a record breaking 8th treble yesterday after winning 3-1 against Inverness CT.

After the victory, fans headed to Celtic Park to celebrate and welcome the team back.

Several arrests were made following some disorder, with two men aged 29 and 43 set to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow, and three men ages 23, 33 and 39 due to appear at a later date.

A 22 year old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and a 47 year old man was issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland said: “There was no significant disorder and I would commend the majority of fans for their conduct throughout the day.

“Working with partner agencies, we provided a proportionate policing plan to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all those in and around the city.”
