Police treating death of baby in West Dunbartonshire as 'unexplained'

A police probe’s been launched in West Dunbartonshire following the death of a four-month old baby.

A police probe’s been launched in West Dunbartonshire following the death of a four-month old baby.

The infant had been taken from a house in Balloch to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital but couldn’t be saved.

Police say they’re treating the death as unexplained.

A police spokesperson told Clyde News: “Around 10.30am on Wednesday 15 February 2017, police were informed of a four month old baby, from Dumbain Crescent in Balloch having died within the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Following a post mortem examination, officers are treating the death as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
