Police want Dash Cam footage after man is stabbed in Govan

Police in Govan are continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted by two men in Middleton Street, Glasgow in the early hours of Sunday 5 November 2017.

Around 12:20am on Sunday 5 November the 28-year-old man was walking in Middleton Street when he was chased by two men who caught up with him at the corner of Middleton Street and Elizabeth Street.

The men then attacked him with a knife and another sharp object before making off.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries. His condition is described by hospital staff as stable.

The culprits are described as white and one was wearing a grey hooded top and the other a black hooded top.

Detective Constable Lauren Docherty at Helen Street CID in Govan is appealing for information, she said: ‘At this time we have no idea as to why this young man was viciously attacked and as such I am appealing to anyone who has any information that could assist our investigation to contact police immediately.

‘As well as anyone who was walking in the vicinity of Middleton Street around 0020 hrs on Sunday 5 November I would also ask any drivers and taxi drivers who were passing at this time to check their dashcam footage to see if they have captured the assault or even have images of the persons responsible.

‘Anyone who has any footage or information is asked to contact CID at Helen Street Police Station via telephone 101 quoting incident number 0092/5th November.

'Alternatively information can be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.’
