A man was caught with a stun gun disguised as an iPhone during a large scale weapons raid. 61-year old John McIver was held last November following the swoop at a flat in Glasgow's Possilpark.

Officers found the Chinese-made stun gun, a self-loading pistol, two shot guns and bullets. Police further discovered a stash of cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine in the property. A judge heard how McIver had agreed to store items on behalf of others.

He is now behind bars after he pleaded to a total of 12 charges at the High Court in Glasgow. These included possession of the firearms as well being concerned in the supply of the drugs. Tony Lenehan, defending, said McIver realises he is a 'whole lot of trouble'.

Lord Mulholland told McIver: 'These are very, very serious charges that you have pled guilty to.' He was remanded in custody pending sentencing next month.'
