Several roads will be closed in the city centre this weekend as two cycling events take place.

The Tour of Britain will begin on Saturday morning in George Square at 10.30am and will make its way to Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.

The opening stage on Saturday will complete a loop of Glasgow city centre before heading south through Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire before crossing into Dumfries & Galloway.

The Pedal for Scotland event also takes place on Sunday when cyclists set off from Glasgow Green from 6.45am, making their way to Edinburgh.

Road closures are in place throughout the city centre in order for both events to take place.

Below are a list of road closures over Saturday and Sunday which could impact your journey, which includes George Square, Glasgow Green, Queen Street and Saltmarket.

The road closures will also cover areas where two Republican marches, scheduled to take place in the city centre on Saturday, will take place.
