Police appeal after Sauchiehall Street assault

It happened close to the junction with Hope Street in the early hours of Sunday 5th May

Officers are appealing for information following an assault on Sauchiehall Street near to its junction with Hope Street in Glasgow.

The incident happened around 2.30am on Sunday, 5 May, 2024, when a 17-year-old male youth was approached by a group of men and women aged around 18 to 20 and assaulted.

The injured man was treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later released.

The suspects, two of whom were men, ran off in the direction of Buchanan Street. They were all white and spoke with local accents.

One of the men was around 6ft and was wearing a Nike tracksuit. The other man was wearing a grey jacket with a white Palm Angels t-Shirt.

Detective Constable Matthew McCann said: “We are appealing to any members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident who can help with our ongoing enquiries.

“If you saw what happened, know those involved or where they went, then please get in touch.”
