Scotrail emergency timetable due to derailment and 'substantial staff shortages'
It's affecting services on the North Clyde routes
There is more disruption on trains across North Clyde this morning, with Scotrail running an emergency timetable again on Sunday.
It's due to 'substantial staff shortages' and a derailment that happened at Coatbridge Sunnyside on Friday night.
The train was not in service at the time of the derailment.
Scotrail says anyone who is unable to travel due to the disruption will be able to claim a full refund on your ticket with no admin fee.
We're being urged to check before we travel.
It follows the announcement that Scotrail are expecting a driver shortage in the coming days.
In a Tweet, Scotrail wrote: "We are reliant on drivers working overtime or on their rest days because of delays to training new drivers caused by the pandemic."
"Unfortunately, since the drivers’ union ASLEF announced its intention to recommend a ballot for strike action action after receiving an offer of a 2.2 per cent pay increase, a significant number of drivers have declined to make themselves available for overtime/rest day working.
"The pay offer in full is a 2.2 per cent increase with the addition of a revenue share scheme, which, subject to targets being exceeded, could amount to more than a 7 per cent salary increase. Drivers have received four pay rises since May 2019."
