Sex attack investigation in Alexandria
A dog walker was attacked near the River Leven in the early hours of Tuesday
Police are hunting a man who indecently assaulted and injured a woman as she walked her dog in Alexandria,
The 49-year-old victim was attacked on a path beside the River Leven at about 12.10am on Tuesday.
She was grabbed from behind and pushed to the ground near the path's junction with Suzanna Street and Munro Street.
The suspect ran off after indecently assaulting the woman, who was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and treated for minor injuries before being released.
Police Scotland Detective Inspector Scott Hamilton, at Clydebank CID, said: "This was a very traumatic experience for the woman which has left her with both mental and physical injuries.
"Our inquiries have revealed that there were a group of teenagers, both male and female nearby who may have witnessed the attack or may have seen the suspect hanging about the area either before or after it took place.
"This pathway is used by many dog walkers and I appeal to any of them who has information to contact police immediately."
