Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Lanark.

Emergency services were called to a property on Braxfield Terrance in the South Lanarkshire town at around 10pm yesterday.

The man, who is yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are treating the incident as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10pm on Wednesday, October 4, police were called to an address in Braxfield Terrace, Lanark.

“Police and Ambulance attended and an as yet unidentified man was pronounced dead.

“The death is currently being treated as suspicious and the investigation to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.

"Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
