Teenager in hospital after serious Coatbridge road crash

A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in Coatbridge.

The collision, involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, happened on Woodside Street at the junction with Viewfield Road around 7:45am today.

Emergency services attended and the 19-year-old female pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment

Her condition is being described as serious but stable.

No one else was injured – the road was closed and re-opened around 11.45am.

Sergeant Stewart Taylor said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time of the crash.

“In addition, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch.”
