Two bodies recovered from Glasgow docks

Police searching for a pair of missing men have recovered two bodies from a city docks.

The remains were found in King George V Docks on the River Clyde in Glasgow at around 9.25am on Thursday.

Formal identification has yet to take place but police said the families of missing men Martin Ackland and John Bowman have been informed.

Mr Ackland was last seen in Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow on Thursday December 5 2019.

Mr Bowman was last seen in Torphin Crescent in the city's east end on Thursday January 30 this year.

Police said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the deaths are ongoing.

It is understood there is nothing to suggest any link between the deaths.
