Two men charged after Lanarkshire drugs bust

Police carried out the search in Wishaw on Thursday morning

Two men, aged 26 and 63, have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences in Lanarkshire.

Around 10.45am on Thursday, 29 June, 2023 officers executed a drugs search warrant in the Gateside Street area of Wishaw and recovered cannabis with a street value of around £5000 and over £86,000 of cash.

They are expected to appear in Court on Friday, 30 June.

Area Inspector Alan Mulholland said: “We remain committed to disrupting the supply and sale of drugs in our community and preventing the misery it brings.

“Anyone who has information or concerns about drugs should contact Police Scotland via 101 or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
