VIDEO: People camp out in bid to buy house in Lenzie
Prospective home-owners desperate to live in the sought after area of Lenzie have been camped outside a builders office for a number of days and nights.
Stewart Milne Homes are building 51 properties in the village of Auchinloch as part of the Gadlock Green development.
Since Tuesday some people have pitched up on grass next to the pub car park where the site office is based.
Some there are telling Clyde News they have chosen the area as it is in the school catchment area for Lenzie Academy and other say it is the only way to buy a house locally as the market is so competitive.
A spokesperson for Stewart Milne said: “All properties have been designed to be flexible for modern family life and sit within the catchment area for Lenzie Academy, making the development an ideal place for families and young professionals.
“There are over 1000 names on the database. It is first come first served and properties are not able to be reserved any earlier than Saturday to make sure it’s fair for people waiting.”
