Adam Montgomery has joined Motherwell on a loan deal until the end of the season from Celtic.

The 21-year-old spent the first part of the season on loan at Fleetwood Town, making six appearances.

Montgomery spent last campaign at St Johnstone and has spent time at Aberdeen as well.

He has played 20 times for the Celtic first team and has a contract until 2025.

The left-sided player has also appeared for Scotland's youth teams.

He becomes Motherwell's first signing of the January transfer window.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell told the club's official website: “With the low numbers we currently have available, it’s important we bring the right players to the club who we think can make an impact.

“Adam is still a very young footballer who is in the early part of his career, however, to have amassed 67 first-team games at his age, shows he already has experience and good knowledge of the game.

“I’m delighted we have been able to bring him to the club and look forward to working with him.”
