Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been pictured in crutches just days before this weekend's crunch Old Firm clash.

An image circulating on social media shows the Colombian international checking in to a flight at Glasgow Airport.

The 25-year had been away on international duty but was sent home early due to “muscle overload”.

It could prove to be a huge blow for Giovanni van Bronckhorst as they prepare for matches against Celtic and Braga in the coming weeks.

Morelos missed the last Old Firm clash due to being away with Colombia and looks like he could sit out of Sunday's clash at Ibrox.

A statement from the Colombian football federation on Morelos last week said: “The technical and medical staff of the Colombia men's senior national team reports that, after performing medical tests on player Alfredo Morelos, a muscle injury in the left thigh was confirmed, which prevented him from participating in the previous match against Bolivia and likewise does not allow him to participate in the next match of the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
