Celtic have completed the signing of Jota on a permanent deal.

The winger has put pen to paper on a five-year deal following last season's successful loan spell.

Jota scored 13 goals in 40 appearances after joining on a temporary deal from Benfica last summer and quickly became a fans favourite.

The Parkhead had an option to buy the 23-year old for a reported £6.5million and have now exercised that deal and agreed personal terms.

Jota told Celtic TV: "I'm feeling great. It's a tremendous step in my career.

"I'm really happy to have joined Celtic and I just want to give some joy to the fans, to our team and conquer as many things as we can.

"I just fell in love. So I think it’s a good time to be here and I just want to develop.

"I just want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible and to do our thing because we want to do better this year, and we are going to do better this year."

Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers completed a similar move last month and joins Jota as part of Ange Postecoglou's squad this season.

The pair will be expected to play a key role as Celtic look to retain their Premiership title and enter the group stages of the Champions League.

Jota becomes the club's fourth summer addition, with Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei already signed.
