Celtic have completed the signing of German defender Moritz Jenz.

The 23-year old has been brought in from French side Lorient and becomes their second signing of the day.

Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy has joined on a free transfer after leaving Shanghai Port.

Jenz signed for Lorient last summer and was part of their side which finished 16th in Ligue 1.

He has been secured by the Parkhead side on a season-long loan deal with Celtic holding the option to buy Lenz next summer.

Ange Postecoglou has been in the hunt for a central defender this summer following the departure of Nir Bitton.

Christopher Jullien's future also remains unclear after the Frenchman was almost sent out on loan to Schalke this window.

He follows Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota through the door this summer after both players made their loan deals permanent.

Argentinian left-back and former Dundee United goalkeeper Ben Siegrist are also new additions this transfer window.

Speaking of the two latest signings, Postecoglou told the club's official website: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring in both Aaron and Moritz to the club, and I’m sure they’ll be great additions to our squad.

“I obviously know Aaron from my time coaching the Australian national team, and he brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level.

“Moritz is a player we’ve been aware for a while now, and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to sign him.

“They’ve already had the chance to meet the rest of the squad, and I’m sure they’ll settle in very quickly into what is a very welcoming group of players, and I know that our supporters will be looking forward to seeing them both in a Celtic jersey.”
