No complaints from Hamilton boss Martin Canning after Alex Schalk's theatrics

Manager Martin Canning is more concerned by Hamilton's battle to beat the drop than dwelling on incidents such as Alex Schalk's dive which handed relegation rivals Ross County a precious point against Celtic.

With every club in the bottom six still in danger of the drop, the Staggies were given a massive boost when Schalk's theatrics - which have since earned him a two-match ban - earned them a 2-2 draw in Dingwall in the last round of Ladbrokes Premiership fixtures a fortnight ago.

But Canning insists there will be no sour grapes from his camp - even though it could negatively impact their own survival prospects.

The Accies boss reckons Ross County will also have been on the receiving end of some dubious decisions this term.

And speaking ahead of Saturday's visit of Kilmarnock, Canning said: "I don't have any frustration with the fact Ross County got a point out of it because they have worked hard and got their draw. That's football.

"I haven't gone back and watched all 32 of County's games before that but I'm pretty sure if I did there would be a few decisions which have gone against them.

"You can't look at these things and get wound up by them.

"Every manager will tell you points in the season when they have won points they shouldn't have.

"And there will also be plenty of times when they have lost points when they should have won.

"That's just part and parcel of the game and you just have to hope over the course of the season you have done enough yourself to make sure that ultimately it's your team who stays up.

"It's about worrying about what we do rather than trying to pin the blame on someone else. At this stage in the season, if you start looking for excuses then you risk taking your eye off the ball.

"Right now survival rests in our own hands and if we win enough games we'll be fine, so that has to be our big focus."
